Crebilly Farm Update 2/21/17

Dear Friends,
A reminder the first Board of Supervisors Conditional Use hearing is TOMORROW, Wednesday, 2/22, 6pm Stetson Middle School.  YOU MUST attend this hearing if you wish to seek Party Status.

Thank you to the following Townships that will be seeking Party Status:
*Thornbury
*Pocopson
*Pennsbury

FRIENDS, PLEASE TAKE ACTION TODAY:
CONTACT THE FOLLOWING NEARBY TOWNSHIPS AND URGE THEM TO SEEK PARTY STATUS
:

1) Birmingham  (610)793-2600
https://birminghampa.st7.vt-s.net/webforms/contact-us

2) East Bradford (610)436-5108
mlynch@eastbradford.org
*This township recently approved about a hundred Toll homes to be built on Tigue Road between Rt. 52 and South New Street.

The Board of Supervisors hearings is the beginning of the next chapter- and the most important chapter.  Whether you have Party Status or not, we need to attend the public hearings of the Board of Supervisors- UNTIL.  The BOS needs to be closely monitored through these hearings.  It matters that people fill the chairs with their presence by being present.  It is up to us to hold the Board of Supervisors accountable to carry out the thoughtful recommendations made by the Planning Commission.

I do not know why there is hardly any open space left in Westtown Township.  I do not know why Crebilly Farm has not been conserved.  I do not know why Westtown Township has allowed building on hollowed ground in the past.  And I certainly do not know why Westtown Township approved digital billboards along 202.  Perhaps they thought it would be helpful to air Netflix during rush hour traffic?  None of these decisions seem to be consistent with the values of where we live.

What I do know is that more than ever before- we need to show up.  We need to pay attention.  We need to make sure that every ‘I’ is dotted and every ‘T’ is crossed in the upcoming months.  If we want the best possible outcome for Crebilly Farm, each of us needs to take responsibility and participate in any way we can.

If not you, then who?

Thank you,
Mindy

  1. Hi Mindy,
Can you briefly explain “Party Status”? Is this an individual or township concept and what purpose does it serve?
    Thanks,
    Diane B.

  2. Hi Diane,
Thank you for reaching out. There are two emails/blogs on this website that pertain to Party Status. If you scroll back to the blog just before 2/1, you’ll see it titled ‘Crebilly Farm Update- Party Status.’ The second blog regarding ‘Party Status II’ is the blog just before today’s post. Hopefully between the two, they will help answer your questions. That’s about my maximum understanding of Party Status myself since I am not a lawyer. If you have additional questions, I suggest you reach out to Chris Patriarca at Westtown Township: cpatriarca@westtown.org and check with him. He is very good at getting back to people and easy to talk to.

    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Mindy
