Crebilly Farm Update 12/28/17

Dear Friends,
CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE BY ALL!!!! I am so pleased to announce the Board of Supervisors UNANIMOUSLY DENIED Toll Brother’s application for Conditional Use. My sincerest, heart-felt thank you to the BOS for the incredible amount of work they have done, for standing strong and keeping our best interest at heart. The written decision, from the BOS, is due in 45 days, February 12th, 2018 and will be made public on the Westtown Township website as soon as possible.

I apologize I was not able to attend this evening’s meeting. Though I hear from a very reputable (and quite good-looking) source there was FINALLY standing room only! It pains me I missed that sight- a dream come true! For those interested, (and thanks to my better half) click on the link below and the short video dated 2017-12-28: https://crebillyfarmfriends.com/meeting-videos/

Supervisor, Tom Haws, will be leaving the Board in the new year. Thank you, Mr. Haws, for your dedication, hard work and final decision. I truly wish you well in your future endeavors. May the new supervisor, Mr. Scott Yaw, follow your lead, pick-up the ball and run with it in the new year to come.

Though this is the close of a long chapter, the book is still being written. I hope each and every one of you pats yourselves on the back for caring and participating towards a better outcome for beloved Crebilly Farm and ultimately, our local land and history. A new chapter is beginning and I will write again, soon, in the new year.

Until then, may each and every one of you have a safe and warm New Year’s holiday.
Personally, I’d say so far, so good! And- GO EAGLES!!!

Sincerly,
Mindy Rhodes

  1. Thanks Mindy for all your hard work and relentless dedication to the preservation of Crebilly Farm. It does my heart good to know that a small group can overcome a steamroller like Toll.

  3. I am EXTREMELY happy to read this news!!! Can’t find the words to describe my relief. Now, let’s do something to keep this property a beautiful place for ordinary people to enjoy. I am hoping for a public park with riding trails, picnic grounds, etc.
Thanks to all who fought for this.🙌🙌🙌🙌

  4. Kudos to all who worked so hard to make this happen. I’ve always thought Crebilly Farm would be the ideal location for a permanent equestrian facility along the lines of the Horse Park of New Jersey or the Bucks County Horse Park. Chester County is rich in equestrian history and the equestrian industry in Chester County is one of the largest in the country, contributing mega millions into the local economy. Other than the privately owned Devon Horse Show there is no other facility in Chester County that can accommodate national and international level equestrian events as well as other non-equestrian events throughout the year. It’s an idea that might be worth exploring.
