Crebilly Farm Update 5/3/19

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all those making the trip to Pittsburgh this Monday to be in attendance at the courthouse.  As many of you already know, oral argument for the Toll Brother’s appeal is THIS MONDAY, May 6th, 1PM, Room #313 Allegheny County Courthouse, 436 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA  15219.  I realize how valuable time is and personally, I never feel like I have enough of it.  Thank you, for making the necessary sacrifices so that we may continue to support the Westtown Township Board of Supervisors and Township Solicitor Patrick McKenna.

Seats are still available on the bus departing from Thornbuy Farm; for more information, please click on the link below:

When I was a young girl, my father and I used to sit outside together on the stone wall of the bank barn where I grew up on General Howe Drive.  We had many meaningful father/daughter chats there, usually after I came in from riding my horse and my father finished up outside work.  He’d drink a Michelob and we’d share our adventures of the day.  I can vividly recall him correcting my pronunciation of ‘Crebilly.’  Two syllables:  Creb-ly.  I don’t know about you, but my father was always right.  At least until I turned about fourteen and knew I had all the answers.

This Sunday, May 5th, would have been my father’s 78th birthday.  I will enjoy allowing myself to think about him as I make the drive to Pittsburgh.  I still have faith we can achieve a better outcome for the land and history of Crebilly Farm.  I also have faith the family, who has lovingly cared for this farm all these years, can be fairly compensated for their stewardship without compromising our surrounding community.

Keep going, friends.

Sincerely,
Mindy Rhodes
