Crebilly Farm Update 6/6/20

Dear Friends,

This is a call to action, please.  The next Planning Commission meeting regarding the Alternate Conceptual Plan (ACP) from Toll Brothers for Crebilly Farm is scheduled to be held virtually, Wednesday, June 17th, 7:30PM.  We need to get this upcoming PC meeting postponed unless or until Westtown Township finds a suitable solution for the public to attend safely, in person, and be part of the process.  Thank you to the Westtown Township Board of Supervisors who have considered our safety and respect the importance of public attendance.  They have already postponed the June hearing of Crebilly II to July, date and venue to be determined.

The Westtown Township Planning Commission needs to hear from you about postponing this meeting!  Please get on the horn as soon as you can, call the township manager, leave voice messages and email:
Rob Pingar 610-692-1930

The previously postponed (thanks to all of you) March 18th PC meeting regarding the ACP, was held virtually two and half weeks ago, on May 20th.  Though the township sent out a listserv, I had no idea about it and I am furious I missed it.  All past meetings on the township calendar and listserv, regarding Crebilly Farm and Toll Brothers, are titled as such.  The May 20th PC meeting was not.

Here is the link to the agenda from May 20th:  https://www.westtownpa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/pc-a-2020-5-20.pdf
The May 20th PC meeting, unfortunately, was not successfully recorded so none of us can watch it or listen to it.
The minutes from this meeting are available to read; you may request them from the township manager:

This very well could be the last PC meeting regarding the Alternate Conceptual Plans and THESE PLANS are the ones the public needs to be paying attention to right now.  A virtual meeting for something of this magnitude is simply unacceptable.  I am sickened that I somehow missed the May 20th meeting and I sincerely apologize to those who were counting on me to inform them.  How on earth Westtown Township thought it acceptable to hold such an important meeting, via ZOOM, during a global pandemic and mandatory restrictions, I am quite certain I will never understand.  The pending development of the Crebilly Farm tract could very well be the most important development issue Westtown Township will ever encounter.  Decisions being made now will impact far more than just Westtown Township.  I compare it to Embreeville in West Bradford (which was settled after many years) and I know for a fact West Bradford township would have NEVER held such an important and controversial subject virtually.

This pandemic has reminded me what little I can control.  For now, timelines are something beyond our control.  It is my hope Westtown Township will not allow Toll Brothers to dictate the timeline moving forward.  And transparency is necessary now more than ever.  May all of us, together, continue to pay attention and speak up.

If not you, then who?
Sincerely,
Mindy Rhodes

  1. Below is a great example of a ‘call to action’ email from a concerned citizen. Thank you and keep up the good work! ~Mindy Rhodes

    Dear Mr. Pingar,
The next Planning Commission meeting regarding the Alternate Conceptual Plan (ACP) from Toll Brothers for Crebilly Farm is scheduled to be held virtually, Wednesday, June 17th at 7:30PM.

I respectfully request that that meeting be postponed until such time as it is safe for the residents to gather IN PERSON for this meeting. It is too important a subject to Westtown residents to hold it virtually.

Thank you for your kind consideration.
