Crebilly Farm Update 6/28/20

Dear Friends,

I hate to bust up your beautiful Summer Sunday afternoon, but we have another call to action, asap, please.  In case you missed the late Friday listserv from Westtown Township, the final Planning Commission meeting regarding the ‘Alternate Conceptual Plan’ (ACP) has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th in a garage.  Yes, that’s right- in a garage with a porta potty.  No plumbing, no air-conditioning, no joke.  Folks, you teach people how to treat you and this is unacceptable.

Please read up and see for yourselves:

We need this meeting held in a respectable venue (preferably with running water) that will safely accommodate public attendance during this global pandemic.  I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for each of us to take a few moments out of our day to contact Westtown Township and implore them to find a suitable venue for such an important meeting.  Let us not forget this is the meeting they tried to hold via zoom in June.  We need to inundate the township voicemail boxes and emails with our concerns!  And if you have suggestions for a suitable venue in the West Chester area, then please offer your helpful ideas.  If we do not care and speak up, then no one else will:

Westtown Township Main Number:  610-692-1930
Rob Pingar, Township Manager:  rpingar@westtown.org
Will Ethridge, Secretary Planning Commission:  wethridge@westtown.org
Board of Supervisors:  supervisors@westtown.org

The sale and proposed development of Crebilly Farm will be a life altering event for Chester County.  I need to say this again- a life altering event for Chester County.  The July 8th PC meeting is not a regular PC meeting.  We are not talking about the monthly Historical Society meeting.  The scheduled July 8th meeting will be the FINAL Planning Commission meeting, regarding the ACP, where the PC will VOTE upon the final recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.  It will be the last opportunity for any of us, in the surrounding community, to comment on the subject.  The magnitude of the consequences of the decisions being made right now, will affect each of us forever.

Please get on the horn as soon as you can and leave no stone unturned.
If not you, then who?

Sincerely,
Mindy Rhodes

  1. Having said that I will flood the phones and computers. How about just saying it us not safe until we have a vaccine because that in fact is true. God. As if we don’t have enough stress in our life.
