It goes without saying today, September 11th, is a date that will always be significant, especially to Amercians. I am sure we can all relate to each other, no matter where we were, who we were with or what we were doing in 2001, that day, that moment in time, is forever frozen in our memories. I can vividly recall waking up to the most beautiful, perfect Tuesday with brilliant, clear blue skies and bright sunshine. And then life changed forever. That same date, September 11th, in the year of 1777, the Battle of the Brandywine occurred. It was a Thursday. It was baking day in the villages and I am certain, just like us in 2001, the lives of those villagers were forever changed when the horror of British troops marched through their land and homes, on the way to the bloodiest battle of the Revolutionary War.
Crebilly Farm is part of that land. And it is our collective responsibility to thoughtfully preserve the history it holds.
If not you, then who?
Sincerely,
Mindy Rhodes
